I love putting together mixes of our handmade buttons! This would be a great variety of buttons to add to your button stash to have on hand for projects, to give as a gift to a maker in your life, or perfect for keeping a few for yourself and giving a few as gifts. :)

These buttons were created by my husband Jeff in a variety of woods. This listing includes eight small button cards, with a total of 12 buttons tied to them. (All pictured.) This set includes

two buttons in reclaimed sassafras wood, two buttons in red cedar wood including a carved heart, one button in cedar wood from our yard, two buttons in Oregon myrtlewood, one shed deer antler toggle, one button in spalted maple, one button in diamond willow, one button in black walnut wood, and one button in plum wood (from the flowering plum tree in our yard that fell over in a storm.) (All types of wood labeled on the back of each card so you don't have to worry about remembering them. The sassafras buttons have gone through a process to keep the bark on, more on that below.)

He sands and polishes the buttons so smooth, even around the edges (except for the ones with bark), you'll love the way they feel. All the sanding and polishing also brings out the beauty of the grain, and makes the wood glow.

Sure to add a beautiful touch to your creative projects!

Measurements: Sizes range from a little over 5/8" to 2.25 inches wide.

*This particular set of buttons has gone through a process to keep the bark on. A note from Jeff: "A lot of folks like the look of buttons with the bark still on them, but this isn't possible with most woods because the bark will come off right away. So I came up with a method of adhering the bark with a special inert (non-toxic) adhesive that permeates the bark then holds it to the main wood. Any adhesive on the surface of the button is then sanded and polished off. This gives a really nice look especially with Hemlock and Sassafras."

....

Beautiful wood + lots of sanding + natural oil finish + polishing on the buffing wheel + a whole lotta love = some gorgeous buttons for your special projects.

~Care Instructions~ Care for these buttons as you would wool: hand wash garment in cool water and lay flat to dry. If the wood should dry out from washing, a little walnut oil (or other natural oil) on a soft cloth works well to moisturize them. Oiling them will keep your buttons beautiful and protect them from drying out.
