We are so excited to announce something new, a little something my husband Jeff dreamed up... metal overlay jewelry! He loves working with wood and has been wanting to work with metal for a long time and now he has brought them both together. He created these earrings in Oregon juniper wood. (We love juniper wood and it also happens to be a sustainable wood choice.) After creating the wooden structure, he coated the wooden earrings in metal, this time copper. Then he did a natural patina on the copper and set a beautiful blue turquoise stone in the center of each earring.
What we love about the metal overlays is that they make for lightweight earrings. Earrings that size in pure metal would be heavy, but coating the wood in metal, makes it possible to wear larger earrings without the weight. These earrings come on silver plated ear wires.
(A note: the earrings you order will not be the exact ones pictured here. They are made to order, so there could be a brief waiting period while Jeff makes them for you. The earrings you receive will be the same design, same metal, and very similar in size. Yet each will be unique and have slight variations, thus the beauty of handmade. Keep in mind that patinas can vary greatly.)

Copper and turquoise... a combination I absolutely adore. And one of my favorite things about these earrings is the way the light shines through...
